GT All Stars got the better of Ghetto Youth United 3-2 in a specially arranged soccer match on July 2 to commemorate Guyana’s 50th Independence anniversary in Scarborough, Canada.
Leading the winners to victory was the game’s Most Valuable Player, Andre Bobb who netted a double in the keenly contested affair which showcased Guyanese players residing there.
Match coordinator Mark Fanfair informed that the match was a thrilling affair as the players all displayed a high level of competitiveness. Fanfair also disclosed that the GT All Stars team is planning to tour Guyana in October for a series of matches.
On hand to witness the match was Guyana’s Consul General (ag) Ms. Mishelle Butters and Guyana Festival Co-Chairperson, David Adams.
Meanwhile, Fly Jamaica donated one ticket to Randy Washington for his outstanding contributions to the sport in the Greater Toronto Area. Chief Sales and Marketing Representative Mr. Edward Van Luien made the presentation on behalf of the Fly Jamaica.
