Dear Editor;
I write with much disgust and frustration with regards to the mobile Internet service provided by GT&T network. GT&T has launched its 4G Internet service in Guyana and according to Chief Commercial Officer, Gert Post, more than 85 percent of customers would be accessing the blazing fast 4G which is thirty times faster than the previous network coverage. Unfortunately, I am one of those customers who make up the 15 percent that do not benefit from this 4G service on my mobile phone.
I have been supporting GT&T service for more than 5 years now and every month I would purchase monthly data plan. However, my money is being wasted since I do not get to access the blazing fast 4G service. I am from Skeldon Corentyne and this 4G service is unavailable throughout the entire Corentyne area.
Are the persons who having access to the 4G service paying a different kind of money from what I am paying? Certainly not! There is one fixed charge for data plans. It takes forever to send and receive messages via whatsapp. What is more frustrating, the browser would take almost over 15 minutes to load one page. What kind of internet service is this? I think this service should be termed as (zero) 0G.
I honestly feel that this is unfair to a valued customer like me. This may cause persons to switch network so that they can have proper Internet service for their money. I do hope that GT&T can look into this issue and have this 4G service available for all of its customers particularly those on the Corentyne, Berbice area as early as possible.
Frustrated Customer.
Please share this to every Guyanese including your house cats.
