The Hand In Hand Insurance Company is making sure that those participating in the 10th Annual Guyana Cup Horserace Meet are secured as they once again join forces early with the organisers to be a part of the coveted activity with a sizeable coverage.
The mega horserace meet, compliments of the Port Mourant Turf Club and the Jumbo Jet Businesses, is slated for Sunday 14th August at the Port Mourant Turf Club, beginning at 12:00hrs.
The ‘Sport of Kings’ this year has large purses on offer. This year the organisers are pulling the stops out to make this event a special one in celebration of its 10th year in existence and in observation of Golden Jubilee Independence Anniversary with some sumptuous giveaways and incentives.
So far a whopping $22M in cash, trophies and other incentives are up for grabs in the eight race meet and more incentives are likely to be added.
Already incentives have been announced for the winners for certain events with the winners in the A class, the three year old event and the two year old races collecting an extra $500,000, $400,000 and $200,000 bonuses respectively.
The jockeys riding the respective animals in those events will all ride away with an extra $50,000 bonus.
There are also expected to be increased bonuses for the top jockeys, stables and trainers on the day apart from the usual accolades.
The Hand In Hand Insurance Company has over the years being a leading sponsor in sports and continues to play its part in being a cooperate sponsor. The latest sponsorship arrangement was done at the Company Head Office at Avenue of the Republic, Georgetown.
Among other sponsors indicating their willingness so far are Banks DIH Limited, Trophy Stall, BM Soat Auto Sales, Jameel Bar and Entertainment Lounge, the Muneshwar Store and the Hyper Malt beverage company.
The winner of the “A” and lower event will be racing for a whopping $4M prize money in addition to the Guyana Cup Trophy from a total package of $8M over 1600M. The others that placed will also be handsomely rewarded.
The Co-feature 1600M event for 3yrs old horses, bred and born in Guyana and the West Indies, will see the winner taking home a handy $2M and trophy.
The Two year old event is for West Indies Bred horses and the winner gets $1M and trophy over 1000M.
There is also a $1M reward and trophy for the horse winning the E class and lower 1300M event.
The G3 and lower 1300M gallop has a winning tag of $700,000 and trophy. The H and lower 1400M race has a winning pocket of $500,000 and trophy.
The animals classified J and K and lower will race for $350,000 and trophy over 1100M. The L class 1000M race has a winning purse of $250,000 and trophy.
The top Jockey along with the runner up, the top stable and champion trainer will all be presented with trophies and other incentives compliments of the organizers and Trophy Stall.
