RHTYSC, M.S Cricket teams continues to make a positive difference

The eight cricket teams of the Rose Hall Town Youth and sports Club, MS on Friday last continued to make a positive impact on communities drawn across the ancient county. The teams – Farfan and Mendes Under 15, Bakewell Under 17 and Second Division, Pepsi Under 19 and Intermiade, Metro Females and Gizmos & Gadgets Under 21 and First Division handed over donations to the Ithaca, Blairmont and Genderland Community and Social Development Group of Region 5, the Port Mourant Primary School, Tain Primary School and the Kendall Union Sports Club of No.19 Village, Corentyne.
The Ithaca, Blairmont and Genderland Group received a financial donation along with a supply of first aid kits, Cricket coaching kits, trophies, educational promotion aids, footballs and cases of drinks for a father ceremony. The Port Mourant and Tain Primary Schools received trophies for their upcoming graduation ceremonies while the Kendall Union Sports Club received trophies, exercise books and Medals to honour five outstanding students in the No.19 Area. The Club also received 12 personal first aid kits from the RHTYSC, MS.
Secretary/CEO of the RHTYSC, MS and Executive Member Mark Papannah met the executive members of the Ithaca, Blairmont and Genderland Group and shared advice with the recently formed group. Foster pledged that the RHTYSC would assist the group to fulfil its mandate and urged the executives to develop a culture of honesty, hard work and dedication to assisting those less fortunate than themselves. The RHTYSC, the long standing Secretary/CEO is the only youth and sports organisation in Guyana that works beyond the call of duty to assist other organisations to fulfil their mandate. Stating that the Club would continue to assist others in the future, he urged other established NGO’s to follow in its footsteps in an effort to get youths involved in sports and promoting the importance of education.
Treasurer of the Ithaca, Blairmont and Genderland Social and Community Group, Gillian Enniss expressed gratitude to the cricket teams and the RHTYSC for supporting the newly established group which is seeking to make a difference in the rural communities where there are a lot of social ills affecting youths. The RHTYSC, she stated is a role model and dynamic organisation which her group is hoping to emulate in the future. President of the Kendall Union Sports Club Albert Budhoo congratulated the RHTYSC and its cricket teams on the outstanding work they are doing across the ancient county. The No.19 Village based cricket Club, Budhoo stated is seeking to assist youths, the elderly and less fortunate in that area and was delighted that the RHTYSC, MS was joining hands with them to honour their students.
