Due to the inclement weather, the Ministry of Health/Petra Organization Soft Shoe Football Competition will resume today with Round of 16 action, at the Ministry of Health ground on Brickdam and Vlissingen Road.
In the opening fixture at 21:00hrs, Channel-9-Warriors go up against Broad Street and the former are the favourites to advance, having scored seven times and conceded just three goals.
On the other hand, Broad Street has scored six times and allowed five goals.
In the second encounter at 21:45hrs, Tucville take on Campbellville and once again the former should start as clear favourites to win this matchup.
Tucville has recorded eight goals, while conceding five times, while Campbellville with seven goals and allowing eighth to penetrate their backline sums up their defence.
The third contest will witness the clash of North Ruimveldt and Globe Yard at 22:30hrs with North Ruimveldt unit claiming the favourite tag compliments of nine goals registered in the group stage against seven concessions.
Globe Yard has scored and allowed seven in, while the final showdown at 23:15hrs is slated to be high scoring contest involving title holders Sparta Boss and Albouystown.
The East La Penitence-based side has shown indifferent form so far with their third place qualification in their group as ample evidence of such.
Their numbers highlight the struggles, with a defensive record showcasing seven goals shipped in alongside eight goals scored. In the case of group winner Albouystown, 10 goals were scored by the strike force while five goals conceded by the backline.
Following the conclusion of this round, the event will enter the quarterfinal stage.
Winner of the event will collect $300,000 and the Championship trophy while the second placed side will receive $200,000 and the runners-up accolade.
On the other hand, the third placed side will receive $100,000 and the respective trophy while the fourth place finishers will pocket $50,000 and the corresponding title.
