Beacon and Rising Stars Football Clubs recorded their second win in as many matches when the Bartica Football Association leg of the GFF/NAMILCO Thunderbolt Flour Power National Under-17 League continued on Saturday last at the Bartica Community Centre ground.
On a weekend when rain inundated most grounds around the country which resulted in play being curtailed, Bartica was able to squeeze in two matches.
Beacon, following a 1-0 win over Riversview in their first match one week before, hammered Milballers 4-0; the latter’s second loss in as many games. McQuaine Smith netted a double while there was one goal each for Paul John and Reef.
Rising Stars, also 1-0 winners in their first match against Milballers, romped to a 3-0 win over Riversview which was engineered by a double from Lonzo Narine, Antonio Griffith tucked in the other.
Wolves United and Potaro Strikers are the other teams to have won their opening games.
