Trophy Stall became the latest entity to pledge its support to the Ministry of Health-sponsored Soft Shoe Football Competition after wife of Proprietor Ramesh Sunich presented the winning and Most Valuable Player trophies
to Petra Organisation Co-Director Troy Mendonca yesterday.
The presentation was done by Devi Sunich at the entity’s location on Bourda Street and South Road where Mendonca in response spoke of how pleased they were to have Trophy Stall on board once again.
He added that the kind gesture will definitely help enhance the quality of the tournament which according to him has been going well with the community teams and fans turnout making it a success.
He further mentioned that apart from the on-field activities, the tournament has an added dimension to it with the Ministry of Health already pledging to offer its expertise to help educate the participants about the national scourge of Gender-based Violence and its negative impact on the society.
Meanwhile, action in the competition is slated to continue today at the same venue with the final group fixtures. In the opening fixture at 19:00hrs, Broad Street square off with the Ministry of Health, while Albouystown tackle Young Ballers from 19:45hrs.
In the third fixture at 20:30hrs, West Front Road collide with Queen Street Tiger Bay, while Bent Street match stride with Kitty Weavers from 21:15hrs.
The fifth fixture at 21:45hrs is between Alexander Village and Leopold Street, while defending champ Sparta Boss tackle Sophia from 22:30hrs.
Other sponsors on board include: GTT, Lucky Dollar, Nigel Supermarket, Junior’s Jewellery, Star Party Rentals and 2-J’s General Store.
