Guyanese female cycling queen, UK based Claire Fraser-Green is already on local soil set and ready to defend her Time Trial and Road Race championships this Saturday when the 2016 edition of the Guyana Cycling Federation
marquee events pedals off.
With the level of female races almost zilch locally, Fraser-Green is set to successfully defend both titles barring some miracle from the limited opposition expected as she chases success for the fourth consecutive year.
However, the committed cyclist who pays her own way to come and compete will not be taking any opponent for granted and will be her professional self on Saturday when proceedings gets underway with the Female Time Trials at 08:00hrs at the Mahaicony Circuit, East Coast Demerara where this premier event will take place for the first time in Guyana’s cycling history.
The ladies will be powering around the 5.3 mile circuit one time with the rider to record the fastest time emerging as the winner.
Following is the programme for the Road Races on Saturday:

The riders will be rewarded with championship jersey’s compliments of the Guyana Cycling Association of North America (GCANA) which will be presented at the end of each day.
There will be a one week break before the Time Trials are held at the same circuit on June 25th; for all categories excluding the females while on Sunday June 26th, the Elite (senior) riders will take centre stage for their Road Race which will be contested around the outer circuit of the National Park.
Team Coco’s Hamza Eastman is the defending champion for the Elite category, Road Race and Time Trials.

Distance: 30 Laps (71.1 Miles)
