One of the country’s most experienced journalists, Dale Andrews, passed away suddenly yesterday,
throwing the media fraternity in deep shock.
Andrews, 47, a former Queen’s College student, was a Senior Reporter/Editor of Kaieteur News, with a wealth of experience covering the police beat.
A father of five, Andrews who was nicknamed “Crime Chief” made his name during the crime wave of 2002 when he worked through the nights and was even forced to move from his home at Bare Root because of the fearless work.
He was largely instrumental in helping to cement Kaieteur News as the leading newspaper in Guyana.
His endless advice and passion for journalism have benefitting many young reporters.
Kaieteur News, in deep mourning, expresses deep condolences to the family and many friends of a true warrior!
