The Office of the Prime Minister yesterday announced that it has terminated with immediate effect,
the services of Abel Seetaram as Regional Representative of the Office Prime Minister for Region Five (West Berbice).
According to the statement from the office, an announcement with regard to the operations of the Office for the Regional Representative of the Prime Minister for Region Five will be made shortly.
The statement said that Office of the Prime Minister thanks the representative for his services during the period of his engagement and “extends best wishes to him in his future endeavours”.
In recent weeks, Seetaram came under fire after a vehicle he was driving ended in a late night accident in Berbice. He ended up the hospital.
He refuted reports that he was intoxicated at the time of the accident.
This week also, a Facebook posting he allegedly made, criticised the Government.
However, Seetaram claimed that his account was hacked.
In those Facebook postings, Seetaram claimed that he wanted to go public and that the Alliance For Change rigged elections in 2016.
He allegedly claimed that he was not invited to his party’s recent outreach in Region Five, where he was located.
Seetaram was one of several persons appointed by the Office of the Prime Minister to take complaints from residents and report back for further actions.
