Two teenage Parika, East Bank Essequibo girls have reportedly disappeared without a trace, leaving their mother worried and fearful that something has befallen them.
Shonny Trotz, 14, and Shaniza Mohamed, 15, reportedly went missing on Thursday evening last after they left their lot 369 Peters Street, Parika, East Bank Essequibo home to go to the Anna Catherina seawalls. They have not been seen or heard from since.
Their mother, Florie Edwards and Aunt Parbattie Ganesh visited Kaieteur News on Sunday evening and said they have posted reports in Police Stations throughout Georgetown and on the East Coast. Edwards is in fear that her two young girls have run away from home and may now be in danger.
Ganesh told this publication that clothes was missing from their home, and to her knowledge, persons in the area had seen the girls in the company of two males, but supposed call names “Helicopter” and “Aggie” were the only names provided. They are hoping that the police can find the girls, but they indicated that they need members of the public to call them if they hear or see anything.
“We don’t know what happened, but we want to put it in the paper so people could know what’s going on and get people to help us,” Ganesh said, whilst she comforted Edwards.
Trotz, is a student of Saraswati Vidya Niketan on the West Coast of Demerara and she was last seen wearing a red armless dress. Mohamed, aka “Romena” is a student of Leonora Secondary School, and she was last seen wearing an off-white armless dress.
