Haralsingh in his remarks commended Matos and staff for the initiative and investment in another project that would serve to enhance and maintain a healthy nation.
He noted that tourists and even Guyanese are more conscious of their wellbeing today and while visitors are seeking out hotels that are equipped with gyms, local folk and athletes are seeing fitness and wellness as paramount to living healthy.
“Everyone wants to look good and feel good besides feeling young; everyone wants to live healthy and also live very long. While we all know that dieting is good we still need to exercise and to keep our muscles and bones and everything else functioning well. The choice to an active and healthy lifestyle is ours and this gym presents the ideal opportunity for a lot of us to be healthy.”
Haralsingh told the gathering that the investment is timely and ties into Guyana’s Golden Jubilee celebrations, whilst informing that the hotel was almost filled to capacity already like so many others in the city.
Space Gym will not only be opened to the occupants of the hotel but also to members of the public. It was formally opened to the public yesterday (Friday) with attractive packages on offer.
Performing the duties of cutting the ribbon to officially open the state of the art gym was NSC’s Erskine to the applause of the gathering.
