The non-governmental organisation, So-act, yesterday honoured several mothers at Archer’s Home, Durban Street, Georgetown yesterday.
Founder of the organisation, Maxine Woolford, presented hampers to four senior citizens.
She stated that the organisation was specifically set up in order to address issues that senior citizens in Guyana face on a daily basis and that the organisation is on a mission to educate the populace about the important role that senior citizens play in the development of today’s youths.
Woolford believes that the youths can gain experience of seniors only if they play supportive roles.
The organisation was established in 2010 and consists of seven members who are also the contributors.
So-act also aims to spread Mother’s Day cheer throughout the 10 Administrative Regions with the Palms being the next stop.
The four ladies that were honoured yesterday were; Carmen Primo, Estell Porter, Maxine Williams and Veronica Charles.
Please share this to every Guyanese including your house cats.
