2016 Dalchand Rambharose Inter-Secondary School Under-15, Two-innings Cricket
Magnificent batting display by Jason Leitch led Central Corentyne Secondary School to first innings victory over Winifred Gaskin Secondary School in the Dalchand Rambharose Inter-Secondary School Under-15, Two-innings Cricket Competition in Berbice. In their match played at the Bush Lot Farm ground in the Central Corentyne area, Leitch in the first innings scored a magnificent 114 and then followed up with an even unbeaten fifty in the second innings.
In the match which ended in a draw, Central Corentyne won the toss, took first strike and made a respectable 197 for 5 wickets before they declared. Leitch got support from Cris Bownauth with 26. Bowling for Winifred Gaskin, Ravi Persaud and Beres Downer took two wickets a piece for 59 and 45 runs respectively. Winifred Gaskin in their reply made 124 in their only innings. Only Isaiah Munroe with 24 offered any resistance. Chad Johnson took 3 for 15 bowling for Central Corentyne.
In their second turn at the crease, Central Corentyne raced to 104 for 4 off only 9 overs when the game was called off. Leitch was 50 n.o and Hiteshwar Sudhar 25. Downer was again amongst the wickets with 2 for 23.
