The top four teams in the inaugural Corona Beer / Guyana Beach Football Association

(GBFA), Beach Soccer League which concluded on April 17th last, were on Friday afternoon rewarded for their hard work over a few months.
Marketing Representative of Top Brandz, local distributors of Corona Beer, Ms Lise Lewis in congratulating the teams for exhibiting a high degree of skills during the competition said that her company was very proud to have been sponsors of this initial league.
“We were happy to have been associated with the GBFA in this inaugural league which showcased what Guyana can achieve in this version of the sport. We would like to applaud the players for their commitment and discipline which resulted in the successful completion of the tournament.”
GBFA President Rollin Tappin expressed gratitude to Ms Lewis and Top Brandz for their partnering with them for the league highlighting that a number of new and exciting players have come to the fore.
Tappin also complimented the top four clubs for their commitment throughout the league. He also extended thanks to the fans who would have attended the matches which were played at the
Bayrock Beach Soccer Park, Bayrock, Linden and the Kuru Kururu Beach Soccer facility.
Ms Lewis handed over a cheque for $250,000 to the first placed team Royal Youths; Kuru Kururu Warriors received $150,000 for placing second, while Cool Runnings collected
Top Brandz Marketing Rep. Ms Lise Lewis hands over the winner’s cheque to Denzil Pryce of Royal Youths.
$100,000 as the third place finisher with the fourth place attracting $40,000, this went to Silver Bullets.
Other teams which competed in the league included Hi Stars, Attention Family and Buxton Youths.
