North Georgetown Secondary and St. Joseph High School registered wins in the Under-16 group of the National School Basketball Festival (NSBF) in Georgetown on Thursday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
North Georgetown beat St. Stanislaus College 38-22 with Jevroll Shephard scoring 10 points and Daniel Calder eight points for North Georgetown. Nathan Hacket finished with eight points and six rebounds for St. Stanislaus College.
In the other U-16 game, St. Joseph High defeated Queens College 16-14 with Denzel Ross scoring eight points for St. Joseph and Lugard Mohan Jr. scoring 11 points for Queens College.
Meanwhile, in the U-19 category, Plaisance Secondary defeated St. Joseph High 32-14 with Moses Matthews and Andrew Johnson each scoring nine points. Jacque Vincente added eight points for St. Joseph High.
The following games will continue tomorrow from 2pm with 8 games at the Sports Hall: Girls: Charlestown Secondary vs. Plaisance Secondary, Tutorial High vs. Bishops’ High, President’s College vs. Marian Academy, St. Roses vs. Saints Stanislaus.
Under-16: Marian Academy vs. President’s College
Under-19: Tutorial High vs. St. Stanislaus, President’s College vs. Bishops, GTI vs. St. Roses High.
