With just a few days to go before race day set for Sunday 1st May, preparations are almost completed for the much anticipated horserace meet organised by the Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and Racing stables in collaboration with the Bush Lot United Turf Club.
Over 55 horses have so far taken entry with a number of companies also on board. Beverage Giants Banks DIH Limited headlined the list of sponsors on board with The Jumbo Jet Conglomerate, with Inshan Bacchus Trucking Service and Trophy Stall among the major sponsors.
The $4M event which includes cash, trophies and other incentives is slated for the Bush Lot United Turf Club, Sea View Park, Bush Lot, West Coast Berbice.
Six races are carded for the day with the feature event being for horses classified D and lower for a winning purse of $800,000 over 1mile. Among the top notch field entered so far are Princess She Not, Plum- Plum, Climate Change with Red and Lovely and California Strike expected to be back in action with others such as Keep on Swinging, Golden Blue Echo, Because I Say So, American Boss, Spit Fire, Just Call Me Boss, Lady Budapest, Unsettled, Storm Bird and Strom Mark also expected to feature.
The other races listed include -The 1400M event for three year old West Indies bred horses that never earned and open Guyana Bred horses for a winning prize of $350,000 and trophy.
The G1 and lower 1200M event for the winner’s take of $350,000 and trophy has been changed to a F3 & Lower race.
The H3 and lower event is over 1400M and will see the animals running for a winning pocket of $250,000 and trophy.
Animals classified K and J and lower will be racing for a winning pocket of $200,000 and trophy over 1200M.
The final event will be for animals classified L and lower over 1000M for a winning purse of $150,000 and trophy.
Animals such as Cat Messiah, Liquid Lion, Blue Lightning, Red Jet, Red Region, Plane Land, Royal Cash, Turn About, Royal Stallion, 3 P Prince, Quincy, Royal Progressive, Progressive Kid, Seven Dust, Confusion and Strike again among others.
Apart from the exhilarating horserace meet expected to unfold , as is customary with events promoted by Jumbo Jet, a number of other attractions and give a ways will be a part of the day‘s activities.
The events will be held under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority.
