Reigning Caribbean Fullbore Individual champion Lennox Braithwaite showed his versatility when he captured the Guyana National Rifle Association (GuyanaNRA) Small Bore Section .22 Precision Pistol Shoot for senior marksmen on Saturday last at the Tactical Services Unit Range, Eve, Leary.
The preliminary round shoots were held at 10m and 12.5m before the totals were tallied and the top five shots advanced to the final which saw the finalists shooting from 15m. When the final shot was fired and scores tallied, Braithwaite emerged as the number one shot with a score of 44/1.
Azad Hassan had to settle for the second place with a score of 42/1 he beat into third place Ray Beharry who tallied 42 points.
In the Junior finals, Raval Seojattan topped the field with a total of 47/1 followed by Joseph Lewis (43) and Patrick Daley (35/1). The junior shooters initially compete at 5m and 7m before the finals tested their skills at 10m.
GuyanaNRA Small Bore Captain Dale Hing has informed that the next shoot will take the form of another .22 competition on May 21st at the same venue before the Independence Action Pistol competition is held on May 29th.
