Preparations are continuing as race day draws nearer for the much anticipated one day horserace meet organised by the Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and Racing stables in collaboration with the Bush Lot United Turf Club.
Already over 45 entries have been received for the event which is slated for Sunday 1st May at the club’s entity, Sea View Park, Bush Lot West Coast, Berbice.
Six races are carded for the day and over $4M in cash, trophies and other incentives are up for grabs.
A number of top horses have already inked their names to participate in the feature D1 and lower event which will be going for a distance of 1mile for a top prize of $800,000. Among them are Princess She Not and Plum Plum of the Shariff Racing Stable and Climate Change and Keep on Swinging of the Jumbo Jet stable. Others expected top feature include Kings Night, Golden Blue Echo, Because I Say So, American Boss, Spit Fire, Just Call Me Boss, Lady Budapest, Unsettled, Storm Bird and Strom Mark among others.
Among other entries confirmed so far are Liquid Lion, Blue Lightning, Cat Mesiah, Red Jet, Red Region, Plane Land, Royal Cash, Turn About, Royal Stallion, 3P Prince, Quincy, Royal Progressive, Progressive Kid, Seven Dust, Confusion and Strike again among others.
The other races listed include-The event 1400M event for three year old West Indies bred horses that never earned and Open Guyana Bred horses for a winning prize of $350,000 and trophy.
The G1 and lower 1200M even for the winner’s take of $350,000 and trophy.
The H3 and lower event is over 1400M and will see the animals running for a winning pocket of $ 250,000 and trophy.
Animals classified K and J and lower will be racing for a winning pocket of $200,000 and trophy over 1200M.
The final event will be for animals classified L and lower over 1000M for a pole position taking of $150,000 and trophy.
With race day just a week away preparations have almost been completed with the organizers set to put in the finishing touches to the venue.
Apart from the exhilarating horserace meet expected to unfold as is customary with events promoted by Jumbo Jet, a number of other attractions and give a ways will be a part of the day‘s activities. The events will be held under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority.
