The Giftland Mall will be opening its state-of-the-art playground next month as promised in 2012, founder Roy Beepat said yesterday at the mall’s bazaar sale.
The playground, which is estimated to have cost $50 million, will have a bungee jumping trampoline, flying 25 ft into the air, Beepat said.
In 2012, the MCG investments Inc signed a licencing agreement with SBA Entertainment Inc for the children’s playground and another entertainment facility. The facility is expected to have a bungee jumping area, rock climbing and the playground.
The facility will be tested to ISO and ROCH certification and all equipment will be rigorously tested and sanitized daily in accordance with both companies’ health and safety policies.
The mall is also opening a new wing in August and will feature brand name clothing lines. Some of the clothing lines that have signed onto the mall are Levis, Dockers, US Polo Association and Nine West.
However, until the wing is opened the mall will host bazaars to accommodate local salesmen. The mall opened the bazaar yesterday after having a successful market day sale. The bazaar sale consisted of 40 local vendors displaying their products.
