The Guyana Squash Association (GSA) in collaboration with its corporate sponsor Digicel is holding its third tournament for 2016, the Ansa Mc Al Lucuzade Handicap Squash Tournament at the Georgetown Club Inc courts.
Play continued on day four with semi final matches in the main draw and quarter final and semi final matches in the plate competitions.
Hopes of an all De Groot final in the Open category were dashed when both brothers crashed out in the semi finals. Adam Alves +8 ensured that Peter Michael de Groot -10 would not retain his title when he secured victory in straight games 15/11, 15/8, while Ashley Khalil -3 was determined to reach the final and while demonstrating remarkable shot making abilities she defeated Raphael De Groot -12 also in straight games 15/10, 15/9.
In the first Category A semi finals Mohyryan Baksh +10 easily defeated Mashal Allicock +12 15/9, 15/8, but Kamir Khan +10 had to work extra hard to reach the final in his match with James Mekdeci +8. The match went the full distance but Kamir eventually prevailed 14/15, 15/12, 15/14.
