Kaieteur News wishes to apologise for a misleading headline published in the Saturday April 23, 2016 edition of the newspapers. The title which read that the “CCJ ruling sends two GPL employees to jail,” was flawed in that the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) did not actually send anyone to jail.
The Caribbean Court rather pronounced on a procedural issue pertaining to the interpretation of the Summary Jurisdiction (Appeal) Act Chapter 3:04 for the matter at hand.
The CCJ has remitted the case to the Court of Appeal, which is still to rule on the substantive appeal
