Preparations are continuing as race day draw nearer for the much anticipated one day horserace meet organised by the Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and Racing stables in collaboration with the Bush Lot United Turf Club.
The event is slated for Sunday 1st May at the club’s Sea View Park, Bush Lot, West Coast Berbice venue.
With race day less than two weeks away, the venue has become a hive of activity as the organizers get down to the task of getting it in the best of shape for the mouth watering event.
Six races are carded for the day and with over $4M in cash, trophies and other incentives up for grabs the event is taking on jumbo like proportions.
All the top runners in the country, barring Score Even and CP Got Even, are slated to participate. New sensations and recent winners such as King Night, Golden Blue Echo along with Because I Say So, Climate Change and American Boss are expected to thrown down the gauntlet against the likes of Spit Fire, Just Call Me Boss, Lady Budapest, Plum Plum, Unsettled, Princess She Not, Strom Mark among others.
The feature event is for animals classified D1 and lower for a top prize of $800,000 and trophy over one mile.
The three year old 1400M even is for three year old West Indies bred horses that never earned and Open Guyana Bred horses for a winning prize of $350,000 and trophy.
The G1 and lower 1200M event is for the winner’s take of $350,000 and trophy.
The H3 and lower race is over 1400M and will see the animals running for a winning pocket of $250,000 and trophy.
Animals classified K and J and lower will be racing for a winning pocket of $200,000 and trophy over 1200M.
The final event will be for animals classified L and lower over 1000M for a pole position taking of $150,000 and trophy.
Apart from the exhilarating horserace meet expected to unfold on the day a number of other attractions and give- a-ways will be a part of the day’s activities. The events will be held under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority.
