Dennis Street, Sophia, between ‘A’ Field and Eastern Highway, is now reopened to
vehicular traffic, days ahead of its scheduled completion.
Construction, which began on April 4, was slated to be completed by April 18. However, recognising that the closed area was an important one for residents and commuters in Sophia, General Contractor Colin Talbot and his team worked harder to ensure that the work was done before its deadline.
The road works saw the completion of approximately 300 metres of timber revetment along Dennis Street, Sophia. This construction included the installation of steel tie-rods and “dead man” structures.
Besides Sophia, the Ministry will be undertaking other major infrastructural works in Pattensen and Turkeyen as part of its Urban Areas Development Plan for 2016.
