On match day four of the Edward ‘Screw’ Richmond Memorial Football Championships, Linden Foundation
Secondary School (LFSS) trounced MC’s Educational Institute (MCEI) 5-0, while Linden Technical Institute (LTI) defeated Wisburg Secondary School (WSS) by the lone goal of their encounter.
Omar Webb led the victory bid with a double in the 3rd and 47th minute with one each from Mark Benjamin (27th), Omally Castello (29th) and Aaron Chance in the 32nd minute.
Deon Welcome was the star for LTI; his lone and winning goal was converted in the 69th minute.
Mackenzie High School leads Group A with 6 points from two games, while the ‘Multi’ boys are currently second two points back from their two matches. If New Silvercity Secondary, currently third on a single point are desirous of advancing, they need to win their next match by at least 9 goals while hoping ‘Multi’ loses or draws as well.
The Group B leader is LTI with a perfect 6 points from 2 matches while Linden Foundation and Wisburg are both on 3 points each after 2 games.
The final set of group matches will be contested next Tuesday when the remaining qualifying spots will be on the line.
In the first game, Mackenzie High and Multi will face off while game two brings together Wisburg and Linden Foundation. Kickoff time is 14:45hrs.
