Sunil Singh stroked a fluent 105, while teenage opener Mark Ramsammy slammed 53 as Transports Sports
Club (TSC) defeated Diplomats by 309 runs when the Georgetown Cricket Association/Noble House Sea Foods second division two-day tournament continued on Sunday at Bourda.
After leading on first innings by 133, TSC declared on 248-5, batting a second time. Singh and Ramsammy added 148 for the second wicket to frustrate Diplomats in favorable sunshine. Singh struck eight fours before he was dismissed after facing 105 balls while Ramsammy hammered five fours off 48 balls. Joshua Wilson made 27 while Raphael Singh and Shawn Massiah got 22 and 19 not out respectively. Shawn Brown took 2-36 and Saif Razak 2-50.
Set a mammoth 401 to win, Diplomats lost wickets regularly and were bowled out for 92 in the last hour. Eon Monesir scored 35 as Massiah captured 3-13, Wilson 2-6 and Singh 2-14.
Scores: TSC 251-9 declared. (Keon Morris 55, Devaughn Nandan 45, Adrian Hinds 40, Akeem Redmond 34; Rickford Mohamed 4-43) and 248-5 dec. (Sunil Singh 105, Mark Ramsammy 53, Shawn Brown 2-36, Saif Razak 2-50). Diplomats 98 all out (Eon Monesir 52; Raphael Singh 3-25) and 92 all out (Eon Monesir 35; Shawn Massiah 3-13).
