Ramdeen, Looknauth slam tons, Rasheed grabs 8, Hossain 6, Peters 5

Gandhi Youth Organisation (GYO) and Third Class registered victories when the latest round of
matches in the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/Noble House Sea Foods second division two-day tournament concluded on Sunday.
Host GYO defeated Diplomats by an innings and 32 runs. Trailing by 94, Diplomats resumed the day on 11 without lost and were skittled for 59 in the first hour off 16.4 overs. Wayne Joseph made 18 as Darshan Persaud grabbed 5-21 and Trevon France 3-11.
Scores: (Diplomats 73 all out, Garfield De Roche 5-40 and 59 all out, Darshan Persaud 5-21. GYO 164 all out, Trevon France 29, Rickford Mohamed 5-23).
At GNIC SC, Third Class overcame Sophia by four wickets. Third Class began the final day on 67-5 and managed to tie on first innings as they were bowled out for 156. Keon Bailey scored 43 and Martin Salik 19; D. Vishart had three wickets and Keon Mc Kenzie two. Batting a second time, Sophia were bowled out for 92 with Nicolai Joe scoring 37 and Glenford Stephen 21. Trevon Hussain bagged 6-51 and Bailey 3-19. Third Class suffered some nervous moments before reaching their target in the last hour of play, ending on 93-6. Ricardo Ghisawan made 15 not out while Lenny Pancham and Lionel Mangra got 15 and 13 respectively. Dwayne Peters picked up 5-56.
Scores: (Sophia 156, Nicolai Joe 56, Keon Bailey 3-21 and 92 all out, Hossain 6-51. Third Class 156, Keon Bailey 34 and 93-6, Peters 5-56).
At Everest, the home team and Transport Sports Club played to a draw. Resuming on their overnight first innings scored of 229-4, Everest declared on 327-6. Skipper Khemraj Ramdeen struck 148 (15×4, 1×6) while Richie Looknauth who began on 51 reached an even century (7×4, 1×6). Gavin Sookdeo made 21; Owen Andrews snared 3-62. TSC closed the day on 159-9. Devaughn Nandan scored 42, Sunil Singh 31, Adrian Hinds 28 and Akeem Redman 27. Javed Rasheed bagged 8-49.

At Malteenoes SC, The home team and Guyana Defence Force played to a draw. In reply to GDF first innings’ 241-4 declared, MSC were bowled out just before stumps for 200. Marcus Watkins scored 79 and Floyd Rollins 22 and Rekeem Green 18; Leon Andrews claimed 4-30 and Jeremiah Harris 3-39.
