2016 Memorex Under-17, Two-innings Cricket Competition in Berbice
– Prahalad takes 7 for 12 for Tamarind Root
The 2016 Memorex Under-17, Two-innings Cricket Competition organised by the Berbice Cricket Board,
continued recently with Tucber Park gaining full points over Sisters.
With offspinner Melvin Singh taking 4 for 12 for Tucber Park, Sisters were bowled out for 64 in their first innings. When Tucber replied, Malcolm Mickle slammed 67 while two allrounders who represented Berbice at the Under-15 level, Junior Williams and Leon Swami hit 53 N.O. and 50 N.O. respectively as they declared their 1st innings at 216 for 4.
Facing a huge deficit of 152 runs, Sisters could only reach 63 all out in their 2nd innings with another offspinner, Naresh Chan picking up 5 for 18 and Singh 3 for 15.
Pacer David Prahalad took 7 for 12, the best bowling figures in the competition so far, to help Tamarind Root bowl out Toopoo Rising Star for 83 in their 1st innings. Tamarind Root went on to reply with 85 to take first innings points. The match eventually ended in a draw.

At the Berbice High School Ground, Tucber Park beat Sisters by an innings and 89 runs.
Sisters 1st innings 64 with John David 25, Julian Bennett 24; Melvin Singh took 4 for 12 and Naresh Chan 2 for 20. In their 2nd innings, Sisters made only 63 with Julian Bennett 24. Naresh Chan took 5 for 18 and Melvin
Singh 3 for 15.
Tucber Park 1st innings 216 for 4 declared with Malcolm Mickle 67, Junior Williams 53 N.O.; Leon Swami 50 N.O. Joseph David took 2 for 16.
At Toopoo, Tamarind Root took first innings points from Toopoo Rising Star in their drawn match.
Toopoo Rising Star 1st innings 83 with Vinod Mahadeo 42; David Prahalad took 7 for 12 and 2nd innings, 92 for 7 declared with Yuvraj Singh 39. Satesh took 3 for 14.
Tamarind Root 1st innings 85 with Vinod Mahadeo 3 for 14 and Yuvraj Singh 2 for 3 and 32 for 3.
