Kuru Kururu Warriors, Royal Youths and Cool Runnings all carved out contrasting wins when the inaugural Corona Beer sponsored Guyana Beach Football Association, Beach Soccer League continued on Sunday last at the Bayrock Beach Soccer Park, Bayrock, Linden.
The Warriors secured full points in a close tussle with Hi Stars which they won 4-3. The Warriors cantered to victory led by their most reliable scoring duo, Ryan Scott with a double and Cordel ‘Mr. Dependable’ Johnson with one. Kevon Walker also inked his name of the score sheet for the Linden Soesdyke Highway based side.
Hi Stars got their goals from Michael Peters, Michael Austin and Michael Spencer with one each.
Royal Youths once again showed dismissive form when they blasted their way to a 5-1 win over Silver Bullets. Orchestrating the huge win for Royal Youths were Shane Lucia who netted a double; there was one apiece for Denzil Pryce, Tshekederi Whitehead and Allan Haley.
Silver Bullets got their consolation goal from Shaquel Clark.
Cool Runnings were ready for battle but their opponent, Attention Family showed up too late for the match which forced Referee Glenroy Fraser to refer to the competition rules which handed the walk-over to Cool Runnings.
Matches will continue on Sunday at the same venue when Hi Stars play Cool Runnings, Royal Youths oppose Attention Family and Kuru Kururu Warriors come up against Silver Bullets. (F.Wilson)
