A Kitty resident was yesterday remanded to prison when he appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court for possession of 25.5 grammes of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
It is alleged that Joseph Ramsingh, of Lot 14 Railway Line, Kitty on March 24, last, was found with the cocaine.
Ramsingh pleaded not guilty to the offence when it was read to him by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
Prosecutor Deniro Jones stated that given the nature of the offence Ramsingh should not be granted bail.
Subsequently, Chief Magistrate McLennan adjourned the case for April 18, and remanded him to the Georgetown Prisons.
