Swim Coaches Marisa Wray and Marcia Rodrigues both expressed satisfaction
with this year’s National Sports Commission’s (NSC) Easter Swimming classes which is presently ongoing at the Colgrain Pool, Camp Street.
The two-week programme began on March 21 and runs until April 1 with two classes from Mondays to Fridays. The first Class is from 09:00hrs to 10:00hrs and caters for children aged between 6 and 7 while the 10:00hrs to 11:00hrs seasons is for eight year-olds.
Rodrigues is in charge of the first class which accommodates 22 students while Wray said two more children were enrolled yesterday bringing the number of her class to 24. No entrance fee is required and according to the Coaches they catered for about 100 students attending adding that if the number was higher they would have gotten more Coaches.
“Even though the Easter programme is four weeks shorter than the summer sessions, which is further cut short by Good Friday and Easter Monday, I am satisfied with the progress of the kids,” said Wray, who teaches the eight-year-olds.
Rodrigues echoed Wray’s sentiments adding that the older children are at the Aquatic Centre on the East Coast while explaining that beginners are taught How the enter the pool, Making bubbles, Kicking and pushing off the wall and floating.
The next session for both classes will be on Tuesday after the Easter Weekend. (Sean Devers)
