Raymond Perez, Sherfene Rutherford and Alvin Castello stroked centuries when the Georgetown Cricket Association/Noble House Sea Foods second division two-day tournament continued yesterday.
At DCC, Perez and Rutherford dominated Ace Warriors bowling as they added 265 for the second wicket to guide the host to 302-2 declared, batting first. Perez struck 101 not out (12×4,1×6) off 77 balls, while Rutherford made 169 (28×4,4×6) off 74 balls. Ace Warriors were 49-5 at stumps in reply; Ashmead Nedd and Rutherford claimed two wickets each.
At Malteenoes SC, Castello slammed 137 (15×4,7×6) to lift Third Class to 275-9 declared against the host. Yuvindra Ramnanan made 38. Shaquille Moseley and Dellon Darlymple took two wickets each. MSC were 140-1 in response at stumps. Marcus Watkins scored 60 while Joseph Cupidore is on 43 and Floyd Rollins on 30.
At Eve Leary, St. Stanislaus were sent packing for 68, taking first strike against Police. Vishal Jaigobin bagged five wickets. Police responded with 236-7 declared. Rawl Browne scored 55, Jason Heyliger 33, Jaigobin 32 and Fitzroy Culley 31. Batting a second time, St. Stanislaus were 76-2 at the close, trailing by 92.
At Everest, the host were dismissed for 111, taking first knock against Gandhi Youth Organisation. Shaheed Mohamed got 44. GYO were bowled out for 126 in reply with Chris Deonarine scoring 55; Javed Rasheed captured five wickets and Akshaya Persaud two. (Zaheer Mohamed)
