The battle for supremacy in the Upper Demerara Football Association Division One League continues with Milerock facing Botafao from 20:0hrs with opening play featuring bottom placed Eagles United and Net Rockers from 18:30hrs today.
Milerock are coming off a 2-0 defeat at the hands of second placed Silver Shattas after goals from Dellon McAllister in the 2nd and Damion Williams in the 36th minute of play in the latest set of matches of the league last Friday and will hope to jump to joint first place with Topp XX who are on 13 points.
Milerock, with 10 points from six matches including three wins, two losses and one draw, will fancy their chances against a Botafago side on six points having tasted a 4-0 whipping at the hands of Topp XX last Friday when Keon Halls (5th minute), Monty Simon (20th), Travis Waterton (34th) and Tyric McAllister in the 42nd scored. Botafago has two wins and two losses.
Net Rockers was able to stop Amelia’s Ward Panthers 1-0 in their last game compliments of a Denzil Pryce strike in the 18th minute. They are on seven points from six games with two wins, three defeats and one draw.
The Panthers are on four points and the cellar position along with Eagles United and Blueberry Hill. They all have one win, three losses and one draw. The bottom two teams will face relegation in ten team league.
Federal Winners Connection like Milerock are joint third placed teams with three wins, two losses and one draw after playing six games so far while Hi Stars are on eight points from five games with two wins, one loss and two draws.
On Friday two more matches are slated for the MSC ground, at 18:30hrs Hi Stars take on Amelia’s Ward Panthers with the other game between Silver Shattas and Topp XX.
