The GUMDAC Annual Open Doubles Badminton Tournament culminated Friday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall where the Finals and third places were decided for both the Men and Ladies Doubles.
In the Men Doubles Finals Junior Players Narayan Ramdhani & Jonathan Mangra defeated the Senior Players Darrell Carpenay and Marlon Chung: 21-16, 21-19 to take the Championship.
In the Ladies Doubles Finals, Junior Players Priyanna Ramdhani & Siya Persaud defeated Ayanna Wickham-Watson and Emelia Ramdhani: 21-12, 21-8 to take the Championship.
In the Men Doubles Third & Fourth Place play off Avinash Odit and Stephan Muridall defeated Ernesto Choo-A-Fat and Ronald Chang Yuen: 21-16, 21-19.
The Presentation was done By Mr. Christopher Jones, Director of Sport and Mr. Deion Nurse, Executive of the Guyana Olympic Association to the respect winners.
The GBA would like to thank all who supported the tournament and look forward to more participation in the upcoming tournaments. Special thanks are extended to Mr. Darrell Carpenay of GUMDAC who have been supporting this tournament for the fourth year in a row and also the West Indian Sports Complex for their assistance.
