Lower Corentyne Secondary crushed Rosignol Secondary by 8 wickets to book a place
in the national semi-final of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) National Secondary School Cricket League (NSSCL) sponsored by Banks DIH Ltd’s Coco Cola and Rainforest Water along with Digicel as the competition continued.
Playing at Cumberland, Lower Corentyne Secondary won the toss and chose to bowl first. Their bowlers made full use of the pitch as they routed Rosignol Secondary for 64 off 22.5 overs. The pick of the bowlers was national under-15 player Junior Sinclair who took 3-17, while Ezekiel Kempadoo supported well with 2-5.
In reply, Lower Corentyne Secondary made light work of their target racing to 65-2 in just 10.5 overs as Junior Sinclair returned with the bat to top score with 28.
Lower Corentyne Secondary will play Chase Academy in the national semi-final of the NSSCL while the second semi-final is between Uitvlugt Secondary and Anna Regina.
