Three miners who were reported missing in the “Omai mountain area”, Cuyuni-Mazaruni (Region Seven), have been located and arrangements are being made by the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC) to transport them to Georgetown.
On Tuesday, Anthony Van Sertima, Gavin Van Sertima and Kwastan Lewis, all relatives, reportedly left their mining camp to look for a mining block belonging to Onica Williams.
However, the men lost their way on the way back to their own camp.
Members of the GGMC and the Guyana Police Force embarked on a search and found the three men walking along the trail. They appeared to be in good health. The men will be transported to Georgetown shortly, a Government statement said yesterday.
