The relatives of a 48-year-old Blairmont, West Bank Berbice (WBD) woman are fearful that something
dreadful may have befallen her. She has been missing for a week.
Nesha Alli, who is said to be of unsound mind, was last seen at her brother’s residence last Thursday at Bath Settlement, Berbice.
Her mother, Zora, said that what is more baffling is that the woman never leaves the village neither does she stay away from her home.
According to the elderly woman, her daughter left home Thursday morning to go to her brother’s home.
Later that day, Alli’s brother gave her $100 to take a minibus and return home but instead, the 48-year-old woman travelled to Georgetown. There are reports of her being spotted at Bourda Market.
“She never disappeared from home before so we are all worried. She cannot speak. She can only say ‘Ma’,” the devastated woman related.
Alli is five feet, three inches tall and is brown in complexion. Anyone with information on her whereabouts can contact the nearest Police Station or her relatives on 684-1280.
Meanwhile, two Tuesdays ago, a 64-year-old man disappeared without a trace from his daughter’s Good Hope, East Coast Demerara (ECD) home.
Mohamed Shakoor of Lot 83 Annandale West, ECD, was last seen wearing a cream track pants and white jersey. He is fair in complexion and is six feet, two inches tall.
His daughter, Bibi Juman, said that her father loses his memory sometimes.
Anyone with information on Shakoor’s whereabouts can contact 234-1568, 684-6935 or the nearest Police Station.
