An unbeaten century from Ricardo Adams propelled Zeelandia to a 92-run win over Sans Souci when the
Regal Sports/Trophy Stall T20 tournament commenced on Sunday in Wakenaam.
Adams slammed 104 and got support from Ajay Ghansam with 59 and Navishaul Pooran 30 as Zeelandia posted 217-3, batting first at G Square Cavaliers SC ground in Belle Plaine. Sans Souci were bowled out for 125 in 18 overs in reply. S. Persaud got 40, Seon Venture 19 and Kumar Singh 18. Adams got 2-21 and Pooran 2-24.
Host G Square Cavaliers overcame Maria’s Pleasure by 90 runs. Batting first, the home team amassed 180-6. Satnarine Sahadeo scored 48, Jaggernauth Manbodh 42 and Chandrika Ragnauth 33. Marsh Singh claimed 2-17 and Kennard Lewis 2-33. Maria’s Pleasure responded with 90-9. Sahadeo snared 4-17 and Kamal Khan 2-24.
At the Wakenaam Community Center ground, Good Success defeated Noitgedacht SC (NSC) by seven wickets. NSC were routed for 98 in 18.3 overs, taking first turn at the crease. Matthew Chung made 40 and Shazaam Mohamed 13; Wazir Khan grabbed 4-10, Vickram Ramnarine 2-15 and Gurnauth Khemraj 2-19. Good Success got to 100-3 in 11.3 overs in response. Imran Khan slammed 62 not out and Khemraj 29. Deonarine Persaud had 2-19.
Sans Souci Jaguars beat NSC by five wickets at the said venue. NSC managed 124 all out in 18 overs, taking first knock. Chung cracked 24, Neil Ramalho 18 and Mohamed 12. Sanjay Jairam had 2-6, Derwin Daniels 2-20 and Zameer Zaman 2-24. Jaguars replied with 125-5 in 15 overs. Beesham Moses struck 46 and Nokta Moses 36; Chung and Omal Bacon picked up two wickets each.
