Community for Change and Development is the name of the local government unit that
would be contesting the March 18 Local Government Elections.
The unit was launched yesterday at Supply, East Bank Demerara.
Its aims are improving communications with the Neighbourhood Democratic Council in consultation with the communities; ensuring adequate security and street lighting; developing better educational and recreational facilities for our children and youths; providing better garbage collection and waste disposal services; cleaning waterways currently choked with garbage and overgrown with weeds; improving and maintaining our roads and eliminating substandard work carried out by the Neighbourhood Democratic Council.
The local government unit says that it is not affiliated to any political party.
