The Fitness 53 Gym located at Providence East Bank Demerara, Saturday presented four lucky clients who registered and paid their registration fee on-line before January 11, Kindle Fire Tablets at a simple presentation at the Gym.
The lucky winners were randomly picked by the computer from the over 270 persons who registered before the facility was officially opened on January 11.
The Gym is owned by former Guyana and West Indies Captain Ramnaresh Sarwan. The 35-year-old who is among those in CPL draft in Barbados on February 11 says the Fitness 53 Gym was his contribution to Guyana health and fitness awareness programmes and disclosed his Gym employs fully qualified fitness instructors.
The presentation was made by Gym Manager Darlene Harris to two of the winners, while the other two were unable to attend the presentation.
On hand to collect their Kindle Fire Tables were Neion Barry and Ravi Persaud, while Sabrina Budhram and Narain Tulsi were both absent.
Harris said that the drawing was done live on HJ Radio the ‘BOOM’ fm on Thursday and was the Gym 53’s way of saying thank to those who registered early.
Speaking briefly about his planned return to the CPL, the stylish middle order batsman who has played 87 Tests, 181 ODIs and 75 T20, putting his name in the draft was a last minute decision.
“I got my own Gym to work out in so that should not be an issue. The problem is getting games to bat in since GCC has no first division for the second weekend in a row. I have started practice at Bourda in the nets and all I need is a few balls hitting the bat to get back into my grove,” said Sarwan, who played his last first class game in June 2014 in the English County Championships.
