Tiger Bay won all four titles last weekend when the Central Georgetown Police
Youth Group hosted the finals of the Commander of ‘A’ Division/Rainforest Water 5-A-Side Futsal tournament at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
In the first final, Tiger Bay Trainers defeated Agricola Trainers 7-1 before Tiger Bay returned to beat Yarrowkabra 7-4 in the Open Community game. Tiger Bay Females won 2-0 against Mocha while Tiger Bay ‘B’ defeated Tiger Bay ‘A’ 3-0 to complete the domination.
The tournament was held under the theme: “Revive! Rejuvenate! Represent! Feeding the Flames of Progress”. Chairman of the Central Georgetown Youth Group, Colin Haynes observed the role sport plays in brining communities together.
He said that the initiative is a continued effort to build better relationships between communities and the Police. Commander of ‘A’ Division, Clifton Hicken, who is also President of Georgetown Football Association (GFA), had noted that it was necessary for them to take grassroots football to the communities of Central Georgetown.
