The Ministry of Education Department of Sport/National Sports Commission
hosted a Circle Tennis workshop recently at Hyde Park, East Bank Demerara under the theme, “Taking The Game Back To Its Glory Days”.
Organiser and facilitator of the programme Alistair Munroe said participants were tutored on the basics rules of the game and he was satisfied with the attendance. He added that they will not measure its success on the attendance but how well the sport develops in the schools and communities.
The programme was declared open by Technical Development Officer Seon Erskine who spoke about the importance of discipline. Munroe was assisted by David Wren, Nigel Hope, Edward Cobenna and Michael Trotman.
Similar programmes are set for Regions 2, 3, 4 and 5 as well as the villages in the Demerara River in the near future.
