This Saturday will see the launching of the inaugural Linden Amateur Basketball Association/104.3 Power FM Radio Mash, Open basketball championship at the Mackenzie Sports Club Lounge.
The LABA in a release said that it is pleased that the owner of Linden’s only radio station 104.3 Power FM, Mr. Haslyn Graham, has sought their collaboration in this promotion which is being organised by the game’s administration in Linden. Graham said as a former president and now vice president of the Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF), he felt the game could be promoted for the benefit of the players with such a tournament as this one.
Several cash incentives and trophies are among the top prizes and the details of this championship will be known on Saturday at 5.00pm.
The LABA noted the efforts made by Mr. Graham and thanked him for the initiative in having this Mashramani tournament especially as it bounces off the association’s 2016 season on high note.
The clubs are invited to attend and be punctual as those who fail to attend will be fined.
The six clubs that will be contesting are the Half Mile Bulls, Retrieve Raiders, Victory Valley Royals, Amelia’s Ward Jets, Block 22 Flames and Bankers Trust Falcons.
