“I tell he go home to he wife after I found God and he seh he gonna kill me then kill he self,”– says common-law-wife
A warrant is out for Reginald Prince, 48, if he does not turn himself in to police
sooner rather than later to answer charges of attempted murder according to police sources.
The police began looking for the man who could face at least two counts of attempted murder and a slew of other charges for savagely beating two women on separate occasions.
In addition to being wanted for almost killing his wife several weeks ago, he has now gone on the lam for recently beating and savagely injuring his reputed wife at Annandale Market road a few days ago.
The most recent victim is Gail Ann Thomas, 42, who fears that her attacker may return and finish what he started.
She survived a brutal beating that has left her with a fractured skull and other bodily injuries. She confessed that she now lives in constant fear but is hoping that the police will deliver justice by finding her attacker.
While thanking God for sparing her life, the injured woman who believes that she narrowly escaped death said that based on her research, the man became estranged from his matrimonial wife because of his abusive ways. At one point the wife had to be rescued by running into a neighbour’s yard to escape his wrath.
“He was running after her with a Rambo knife because he don’t like hear ‘leff,” Thomas said.
However, she said she was not aware of the man’s violent disposition until it was too late.
On Tuesday she detailed that she was the victim of a brutal battering at the hands of Prince with whom she shared a common law relationship.
She said her near death beating was because she had found God and wanted to end their more than six-month-old live-in love affair, a few doors down from the official wife.
Her ordeal began after she attended a church service and answered an altar call on Sunday. The next day while at her home having breakfast she decided to tell the man that she had found God and that he should return to his wife.
She recounted: “He said, ‘Gail, you ain’t sleeping with me no more?’ And I said ‘No’. Then he said, ‘You ain’t want nothing fuh do with me no more?’ and I said, ‘NO’ and then he said, ‘Well I gonna Kill you and then kill me self today.’”
The man who had already armed himself with a wooden plank began hitting on the table where the two were sharing breakfast.
“I make ah altar call the Sunday and I tell he is best he go home back to he wife. I said I don’t want to do this anymore and he said no, me gon kill you and kill me self.”
The woman opted to secure her grandchild under a netting responded with authority. “Me God would never allow you fuh kill me, you know who is me God?”
This response further enraged the man who delivered several blows with the plank while declaring, “Well we gonna see.”
Before she knew it she was on the ground unconscious in a pool of her blood with a fractured skull and other injuries. Prince then made good his escape.
She was rushed to the hospital where the injury to her head required more than 20 stitches, and her right arm is now in plaster-of-paris. Her body is black and blue especially in the region of her breast and ribcage.
Following the incident, police have since gone in search of the man who is nowhere to be found. He has not reported for duty either.
She remembers being blinded by the blood which was running from her head wound but said she somehow managed to make it to her yard.
It was shouts from a neighbour that caused her attacker to pick up his phone and hurry out of the yard.
Luckily for the woman, who narrowly escaped death, her daughter was on the other end of her cellular phone recording the ordeal and her screams for help.
Reginald Prince is known to police for inflicting several stabwounds on his wife prior to this incident which resulted in the woman being hospitalized for several weeks.
