Legendary Guyanese singer, Eddy Grant, yesterday paid a courtesy call on President
David Granger at the Ministry of the Presidency.
Known for his international hits, “Gimme Hope Joanna” and “Electric Avenue”, Grant has been pushing for more protection for local artistes.
A Ministry of the Presidency statement said that Guyana will be honouring the music icon with a Lifetime Achievement Award, which he will receive at the Guyana Music Festival scheduled for April 30 at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.
