Male and female Inter Primary School football tournament fixed
The Hearts of Oak Masters Football Club (HOMFC) after having a very successful year of activities in 2015, especially at the youth and the school level, is set to begin their 2016 season with a one week Inter Primary School tournament for schools in the New Amsterdam/ Canje areas for both boys and girls.
The tournament will begin on Monday 8th and end on Friday 11th February with the finals. All matches will be played at the All Saints Scot Church Ground, Princess Elizabeth Road, New Amsterdam. Kick off time is 15:30hrs on each day with each game lasting for 40 minutes.
Seven schools have been invited to participate in the competition with the schools being placed into two groups with the top two teams in each group advancing to the semi finals and the winners to the final.
The schools in Group A are namely – St Aloysius, All Saints, and Overwinning Primaries, while New Amsterdam, St Therese, Fort Ordnance and Lochaber Primaries are in Group B.
Trophies and other incentives will be presented to the top two schools.
There will also be incentives for Most Valuable Player, best Goalkeeper, best defender, and most promising player among others.
The tournament is being sponsored by the Humphrey family.
The activity will coordinated by Neil ‘Grizzly’ Humphrey and members of the HOMFC. (Samuel Whyte)
