GFF call up 26 for CFU Men’s Caribbean Cup
The Golden Jaguars will commence training in their quest to qualify for the CONCACAF Gold Cup but
their first hurdle will be to top Group 5 of the Caribbean Football Union Men’s Caribbean Cup Championships set for March 21 – 29, next.
The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) in an effort to assemble the best possible team and to give the players the necessary time to get prepared has called up an initial squad of 26-players who will commence training today at the Guyana Defence Force Ground under the guidance of Men’s National Team Head Coach, Jamaal Shabazz and his Technical Staff.
According to a press release from the GFF, training will continue into the week. Following is the list of players selected:
Alex Murray, Dorville Stewart, Solomon Austin, Joshua Brown, Colin Nelson, Sherwin Skeete, William Europe, Andrew Murray, Dwain Jacobs, Dellon Lanferman, Anthony Benfield, Kester Jacobs, Vurlon Mills, Domini Garnett, Devon Millington, Jermaine Sommerset, Mark Mclean, Konata Manning, Travis Grant, Gregory Richardson, Alwyn Mc Donald, Kevin Cottoy, Linden Pickett, Delwyn Fraser, Dwain Lindie and Eon Alleyne.
Technical Staff: Jamaal Shabazz (Head Coach), Wayne Dover (Assistant Coach), Rawle Adams (Team Manager), Faizal Khan (Player/Press Liaison Officer), Andrew Hazel (Goalkeeper Coach), Anson Ambrose (Trainer), Beverly Nelson (Physiotherapist), Trevor Burnett (Equipment Manager), Earl Paul (Equipment Officer).
Kaieteur Sport understands that the GFF is working on an international friendly match between Guyana and Suriname sometime in February.
