Tenelec Inc Under-15, Two-innings Cricket Competition in Berbice…
Rose Hall Town Farfan & Mendes will have its hands full to stave off a strong challenge from giant killers
Blairmont Community Centre this weekend in the final of the Tenelec Inc Under-15 Two-innings Cricket Competition today and tomorrow at the Blairmont Ground.
Joint defending champion Rose Hall Town Farfan & Mendes will be spearheaded by their two Guyana Under-15 cricketers Kevlon Anderson and Junior Sinclair, who together with Berbice allrounder Keith Sinclair led the way in their batting line up, with Anderson registering the highest score in the competition so far with 113 together with four half centuries leaving him with 392 runs, the most so far. Sinclair for his past totals 299 runs including a 90 and two other half centuries. Their spin based bowling attack includes Sinclair, Anderson, Simpson and Emanuel Seecharran and Brandon Corlette.
Blairmont however, having defeated Young Warriors in the quarter-finals and created an upset of sorts to inflict an innings defeat on favourites Albion Community Centre, will be a handful. Their batting will be led by Berbice Under-15 cricketer Javed Karim, who has so far scored 228 runs in the competition, including 83 against Young Warriors and 76 against Albion. He will be supported by Chandradat Veersammy, Adim Shiwtahal and Seon Glasgow Jnr. Their bowling attack will be led by offspinner Glasgow, left arm spinner Nigel Deodat, both of whom have represented Berbice at the Under-15 level, as well as offspinner Shiwtahal.
The umpires officiating are Moses Ramphal and Rafik Latif with Joseph Simon as the stand-by.
The match is scheduled to start at 10:00 hours each day.
