The three pavilions art the Area ‘H’ Ground are expected to be filled to capacity when the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club hosts the final of the 12th annual Busta Champion of Champions cricket competition on Sunday.
Rose Hall Town Gizmos and Gadgets would clash with Young Warriors after the Canje based team replaced Tuckber Park, whose Manager Carl Moore informed the organisers that his club would be unable to field a team due to the absence of key players.
Young Warriors was the losing semifinalist to Tuckber Park in Zone ‘A’ and was therefore selected as its replacement. Rose Hall Town Gizmos and Gadgets would be led by Shawn Perriera while Jason Sinclair, Rajiv Ivan, Clinton Pestano, Micheal Hicks and Eon Hooper would spearhead a powerful home team batting order, capable of scoring heavily at home.
Perriera would be part of a spin attack that includes Collis Butts, Eon Hooper, Troy Mathieson, Khemraj Mahadeo and Rajiv Ivan. Support will come from pacers Clinton Pestano and Keon Sinclair.
Young Warriors would depend heavily on Gajanand Singh, Ishwar Singh, Kevin Ramdeen, Seon Hetmeyer, Linden Austin and Wahied Edwards. They would need to set a formidable total on a fast Area ‘H’ outfield if their bowling attack is to have any chance.
Pacer Jermin Henry would receive support from off spinners Gajanand Singh, Kevin Ramdeen, Linden Austin, Kevin Sinclair and left arm spinner Kassim Khan. The winning team would be rewarded with $100,000 and the Busta trophy while the loser collects $50,000 and a trophy. Other prizes would include man-of-the-finals and best all-rounder.
Managing Director of Guyana Beverage Company Mr. Robert Selman, Marketing Manager Ms. Shameeza Yadram and RHTYSC Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster will assist at the presentation after the match.
