The police have detained the wife of a Police Constable who sustained several stab wounds during a dispute with his spouse on Saturday night.
Constable Randolph Gill, who is stationed at Anna Regina, and who lives at Reliance on the Essequibo Coast with his wife, is said to be in a critical state at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
Reports have indicated that Constable Gill was under the influence when the altercation between the couple occurred. The matter was later reported and Mrs. Gill was detained for questioning.
Meanwhile, late last year Gill was in another feud with an Essequibo fisherman. Reports then stated that the fisherman and several of his friends were imbibing at a club in Henrietta Village when the policeman struck him several times for harassing a waitress.
The fisherman was treated at the Suddie Public Hospital while Gill was placed under close arrest.
